Nose Wrinkles

When you lift your nose, wrinkles appear. These wrinkles can often also be seen when you smile or close your eyes, for example, when looking into the sun. One person only suffers a small amount from this, while the other has a lot of nose wrinkles. The older you get, the more visible these wrinkles are. However, some people never suffer from them. It doesn’t just depend on how you use your facial muscles. Genetic predisposition also has an influence. Wrinkles can usually be seen on both sides of the nose, just below the bridge of the nose. These nasal wrinkles are also called bunny lines. This may sound innocent, but many people are annoyed by these wrinkles on the nose. They prefer to see them disappear. Fortunately, this can be done in a simple way. With a treatment with muscle relaxants, you can remove the nasal wrinkles.

Before any treatment of nasal wrinkles, a consultation will always be scheduled. In this consultation, the plastic surgeon of Betan Clinics will explain everything about the treatment. The plastic surgeon will also explain how the aftercare is arranged and what the intended result is. The risks are also discussed. For this purpose, you will also need to complete a medical questionnaire prior to the consultation. This questionnaire will be sent to you digitally. On the basis of this questionnaire, the plastic surgeon can determine whether the treatment of the nasal wrinkles involves major risks in your situation. Are there no such risks, and are you sure you want your nasal wrinkles removed by the plastic surgeons of Betan Clinics? Then the plastic surgeon will ask you to sign a treatment agreement. Of course, you will always be given a period of reflection after the consultation so that you can make a well-considered choice. Once you have signed the treatment agreement, the plastic surgeon will take photos of your nasal wrinkles. These will later be compared with photos taken after the treatment. This way, you can better see what the result of the procedure is. These photos will, of course, not be used for other purposes, unless you have given your express written permission.

Nose wrinkles are removed at Betan Clinics using a muscle relaxant. If you have your nasal wrinkles treated with a muscle relaxant, you can count on a quick procedure. Often, the treatment takes only 5 to 10 minutes. The plastic surgeon injects the muscle relaxant with a very fine needle into the muscles on the sides of your nose. You will feel some prickles, but this is not a big deal. Epilation or waxing, for example, is more painful than injecting a muscle relaxant. An anaesthetic is therefore not necessary. After the muscle relaxant has been injected, the muscles around your nose relax. This causes wrinkles to disappear. Furthermore, your facial expression will not change. After the treatment, you can go home immediately. In general, you will not suffer much from it.

Immediately after the treatment, the skin around the nose is often red and swollen. This is usually gone within a few hours. It is important to follow certain rules afterwards so that the skin recovers as well as possible. For example, you may not apply make-up to the treated skin or consume alcohol in the first 12 hours after the operation. In addition, it is recommended to avoid Uv-light in the first 2 weeks. Stay out of the sun and do not go under the sunbed. In addition, visits to the sauna and connective tissue massages are strongly advised against in the first 2 weeks after the treatment of the nasal wrinkles. If you adhere to these rules, little can go wrong after a nasal wrinkle treatment. You can continue your daily routine as usual.

The tricky part of treating nasal wrinkles with a muscle relaxant is that you don’t immediately see the result. It takes an average of 2 weeks before the effect is clearly visible. After 2 weeks you return to Betan Clinics for a check-up. The plastic surgeon will then check whether the procedure has been successful. If the effect is not yet visible at that time, the treatment can be repeated. The effect of the muscle relaxant continues for an average of 3 to 4 months. After this period the muscle activity is back. The nasal wrinkles will reappear. At that moment, you can come back for a follow-up treatment. The plastic surgeon will then treat your bunny lines again. The more often the treatment is repeated, the longer the effect of the muscle relaxant will last. It is, therefore, advisable to return to the clinic on a regular basis.
